Job Description:
Supervises crew leaders to ensure proper administration of
company policies, work practices, and to ensure employee training,
disciplinary action, work production, adherence to safety
practices, paperwork/payroll and interpretation of Union Agreement,
where applicable. Routine Job Functions: Manage hiring, firing, and
promotions within the team. Direct and supervise pre-inspectors and
crew leaders during field operations. Interpret and execute orders
from the Division Line Clearance Coordinator of utilities. Assign
tasks, enforce safety protocols, and secure permissions for tree
trimming from property owners. Maintain accurate records of
employee qualifications, timesheets, equipment maintenance, and DOT
compliance; investigate and document incident reports. Implement
and monitor cost control measures. Inspect and ensure all tools and
equipment are safe and operational; perform repairs or replacements
as needed. Conduct training sessions for new equipment
introductions. Lead responses to emergency situations as they
arise. Liaise with customers, property owners, contractors,
utilities, and government agencies. Attend meetings with Region
Manager, System Line Clearance Coordinator, Safety Representatives,
and other stakeholders. Monitor crew activities to ensure adherence
to safety policies and procedures. The position of General
Foreperson involves a combination of supervisory responsibilities
and occasional physical tasks. Each General Foreperson oversees
multiple crews, typically ranging from 2 to 8, with each crew
supported by a dedicated crew leader.
