The Co-Op Program – Afterschool Campus Assistant (Floater) is
designed for high school or college students seeking hands-on
experience in education, youth development, mentoring, or community
service. This role supports daily afterschool operations by
assisting staff and students across multiple campuses as needed.
This position provides real-world exposure to working with
children, team collaboration, leadership development, and
professional responsibility in a structured educational
environment. Requirements: Key Responsibilities Assist Lead and
Tier 1 staff with daily afterschool program activities Support
student supervision during transitions, activities, and dismissal
Help facilitate structured activities such as homework time,
enrichment, games, and group lessons Serve as a floater, providing
coverage and support at different campuses as assigned Maintain a
safe, positive, and respectful environment for all students Model
appropriate behavior, communication, and professionalism Assist
with setup, cleanup, and organization of program materials Follow
all Gathering Outreach policies, school campus procedures, and
safety guidelines Co-Op Learning Focus Participants in the Co-Op
Program will: Gain hands-on experience working with elementary-age
students Learn classroom management and youth engagement strategies
Develop communication, teamwork, and leadership skills Build
professional habits including punctuality, accountability, and
adaptability Receive performance-based feedback throughout the
school year Qualifications Currently enrolled in a high school or
college Co-Op or career pathway program Interest in education,
mentoring, child development, or community service Reliable
transportation and ability to travel between campuses as assigned
Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with a team
Positive attitude, patience, and willingness to learn Physical
Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students for
extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed
Compensation $10.00 per hour Continued placement and consideration
for future roles based on performance and program needs Additional
Information This is a supportive, learning-focused position
intended to complement academic Co-Op requirements. Advancement
