searching for a highly skilled Senior Compliance Engineer , who
will be responsible for ensuring compliance of Trystar’s new
products, integrated systems, and custom solutions with all
relevant electrical standards and regulations, from initial design
compliance to pre-certification tests to final certification. This
position will preferably be based in Burnsville, MN, Houston, TX,
Faribault, MN., or Remote . This role aligns with the Engineering
Function and reports directly to the Senior Engineering Compliance

along the way. In this role you will get to: Contribute to
development of advanced electrical power solutions. Develop and
implement electrical and environmental compliance policies and
procedures. Conduct tests, studies, and regular audits to ensure
compliance with applicable laws, electrical standards, and
regulations. Identify and mitigate potential risks related to
electrical compliance. Institute best practice procedures for
compliance and risk mitigation. Collaborate with other departments
to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance. Provide technical
guidance and support to the engineering team, including the
creation of satellite laboratory testing capabilities design to
reduce the overall cost and time for the certification of new
products. Manage complaints and technical issues relating to
product design and manufacturing. Stay up to date with changes with
codes and electrical safety standards and regulations. Advise
management on compliance-related matters. Prepare and present
reports on the organization’s electrical compliance status. Job
Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in electrical
engineering (or a related field) Minimum of Ten (10) years of
industrial experience in electrical product compliance, product
certifications or a related field. Ten (10) years of experience
with product testing and process analysis. Demonstrated ability to
apply regulatory compliance frameworks effectively. Demonstrated
knowledge of electrical standards and regulations. Proficient in
developing qualification and pre-certification test plans to ensure
first-pass success at a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory
(NRTL). Ability to establish scope of work with, coordinate work
with, and interpret results from UL, ETL, and/or other NRTLs.
Proficiency in report writing, analysis, and compliance procedures.
Skilled in developing comprehensive documentation and support
systems that empower product design engineers to independently
access information and navigate formal change order processes.
Proficient in creating checklists and guidelines ensuring adherence
to local, national, and international compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical
and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and
other relevant software. Travel: Up to 20% of travel within the
USA, as driven by business needs. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a research and new product development environment.
Knowledge of UL standards such as UL 891, UL1012, UL1778, UL1008,
UL508A, UL1691, UL489, UL924, UL1741, UL1640, and others.
Understanding code differences from NFPA 70, 101, 99, and others.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to
manage uncertainty and competing priorities in a fast-paced
technology development environment; solid technical knowledge and
understanding of product/process design. Ability to communicate
with test engineers at high-power labs, NRTLs, and product design
engineers to explain to team-members, why a particular
configuration or design will not work and subsequently provide
options enabling the sought certification without compromising the
intended functionality. Methodical and diligent with outstanding
planning abilities. Skilled in business operations or project
management. Certification as a compliance professional is a
plus.
