We have an exciting opportunity for a Orion Crew Module Uprighting System (CMUS) Subsystem Manager to join the team with Aerodyne Industries, a teammate company.The Orion Crew Module Uprighting System (CMUS) Subsystem Manager will:

  • Lead Risk Assessments and track the progress of mitigation steps
  • Participate in CMUS design reviews, Hazard Analysis Reports, and weekly meetings with Orion stakeholders.
  • Witness the development and qualification testing
  • Conduct site visits to suppliers
  • Participate in multiple spacecraft level forums representing CMUS
  • Review of significant drawings, schematics, test plans, analysis, Failure Effects and Modes Analyses, requirements data, test data, critical processes, and address discrepancies and resolutions
  • Coordinate with Softgoods Subject Matter Experts on changes to the design, non-conformances, verification evidence and participate in other reviews and activities as needed.
  • Coordinate between Orion Stakeholder analysis teams at NASA and the Orion contractor
  • Coordinate NASA reviews of CMUS model development plan, with Subject Matter Expert (SME) assessment of gaps/risks, and potential mitigation activities
  • Report analysis status and gaps/risks to Orion program and Engineering Technical Authority (TA)

    • Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possess 5 - 10 years of related experience
    • Excellent people skills
    • Familiarity with desktop software applications, MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Teams, is required
    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Requisition Preferences:
      • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 10+ Years experience
      • Background in Loads and Dynamics and Monte Carlo Analysis
      • Familiarity with wave dynamics and spectra a plus
      • Familiarity with LS-Dyna a plus
      • Project Engineering skills a plus
      • Familiarity with NASA standards and verifications a plus
