SummaryThe Clinical Manager- University Place provides leadership
on a 24 hour/7 days per week basis to the Long Term Care nursing
team in order to provide for the residents' needs while under
medical care in our Long Term Care facility as well as to assess
residents' needs, plan, implement and evaluate residents' nursing
care. The Clinical Manager- University Place has the responsibility
and accountability for the clinical and skilled nursing activities
in order to provide quality resident care; responsible for the
management of all staff and all equipment/materials; fosters a
cooperative and collaborative relationship with the physicians;
establishes and maintains good inter and intra departmental
relationships while ensuring compliance with local, state, and
federal agencies.Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills
necessary to provide clinical care appropriate to the patient
populations served (Accountability and assignment to patient care
and other responsibility will depend on employee's education level
LVN or RN).Job DescriptionMinimum QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school
of professional nursing required or documented degree plan and
timeframe to complete Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- For clinical manager positions in Magnet-designated hospitals
orhospitals in pursuit of Magnet designation, a minimum of a BSN is
required at the time of hire or promotionLicenses/Certifications:
Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse licensed in the state
of Texas, BLS required; ACLS preferredExperience / Knowledge /
Skills:
- Five (5) years experience in direct patient care with at least
one (1) year leadership with progressive responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Performs duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and
customer service/satisfaction, while promoting safety, cost
efficiency, and a commitment to the CQI process
- Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by

- Assists with the planning, development, and direction of
capital expenditures, business objectives, departmental goals, and
special projects.
- Leads in the preparation of departmental compliance with all
regulatory requirements.
- Assigns work and supervises the activities of department
personnel. Trains, monitors, and evaluates staff as necessary.
- Establishes policies and develops processes to ensure the
delivery of excellent customer service, the adherence to regulatory
standards, and the achievement of business objectives.
- Supports the instruction of educational programs that promote
staff competency.
- Provides direct nursing care as needed.
- Monitors quality improvement efforts and makes recommendations
for change as necessary.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to
all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within
budgetary specifications including time management, supply
management, productivity and quality of service.
