Qualifications:/n/n /n/t - One year of recent experience as a
Pediatric RN/n/t - Valid RN license in compliance with state
regulations/n/t - Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification/n/t - PALS
(AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification/n /n/nPreferred Qualifications:/n/n
/n/t - NRP Certification/n/t - Other certifications and licenses
may be required for this position/n /n/nSummary:/n/n The Pediatric
Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, age-appropriate patient
care to children across various clinical settings. This role
involves assessing pediatric patient health, implementing
individualized care plans, administering treatments, and
collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality,
family-centered care. The Pediatric RN demonstrates expertise in
child development, effective communication with children and
families, and adherence to the highest standards of patient safety
and professional ethics. /n/nEssential Work Functions:/n/n /n/t -
Explain procedures and treatments to children and their families in
an appropriate manner to foster understanding and alleviate
fear/n/t - Administers prescribed medications and considers
pediatric-specific dosing and delivery techniques/n/t - Prepares
and manage pediatric-specific equipment assisting physicians during
treatment and examination of patient/n/t - Ensure the comfort and
safety of pediatric patients, incorporating developmental needs and
minimizing distress/n/t - Observes patient, records significant
conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of
patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and
significant incidents/n/t - Takes temperature, pulse, blood
pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal,
assesses patient condition and responds appropriately/n/t -
Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards,
policies, procedures, and protocol/n/t - Accurately document
patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical
record/n/t - Develop and implement patient and family education
plans, addressing topics such as treatment plans, medication
management, and age-appropriate health education/n/t - Collaborate
with families to develop and implement care plans that address the
unique needs of pediatric patients/n/t - Participate in quality
improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing pediatric patient care
and outcomes/n/t - Perform other duties as assigned within the
scope of practice/n/t - Adhere to hospital safety protocols,
infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards/n
/n/nRequired Essential Skills:/n/n /n/t - Critical thinking,
service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills/n/t
- The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language
is required/n/t - Ability to read/comprehend written instructions,
follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills/n/t -
Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about,
move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending/n/t -
Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of
personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive
attitude and professionalism/n/t - Technical/Motor Skills - Ability
to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about
when assisting with procedures and/or using department
equipment./n/t - Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with
frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting
deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close
supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from
other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity
schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail/n/t -
