Job Description Job Description Position Overview The 30 year
company supports the petrochemical and manufacturing industry
domestically and internationally and is headquartered along the
Houston Ship Channel. With various locations around the US, the
company provides training, occupational medicine, and innovative
solutions to the industry. The Occupational Medicine Physician
works under the direct supervisor of the Chief Medical Officer in
evaluating and treating patients both in physical clinics and
virtually. Essential Job Responsibilities - Treats and evaluates
occupational medicine patients in clinic - Supervises ancillary
staff such as physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses,
medical assistants, etc. - Performs minor surgical procedures
including but not limited to joint injections, laceration suture
repair, wound debridement, and foreign body removal. - Assures
efficient patient workflow - Travels to different clinical
locations as needed - Performs telemedicine evaluations for
occupational injuries - Assists with occupational case management
calls - Responds to after-hour injury calls and in-clinic visits as
needed - Adheres to the state medical board rules and regulations -
Assists and/or leads new clinic projects as requested Preferred
Skills & Qualifications - Requires a medical degree (MD) - Requires
experience in occupational medicine - Board certified/eligible in
Occupational medicine preferred - Requires an active, unrestricted
DEA license - Requires an active, unrestricted state-controlled
substance license if required by state - Can have no restrictions
on prescribing medications - Can have no active investigations by
any state medical licensing board - Requires a full unrestricted
medical license in Texas and Louisiana with eligibility in all 48
other states - Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, injury
work-relatedness/causation Requirements - Customer service skills -
Strong minor surgical skills - Strong communication skills, both
written and oral - Must enjoy working with the public and have a
strong initiative to work independently - Must be able to respond
to after-hour calls - Must be able to adapt to work in varied
environments and learn detailed procedure - Proven ability to work
under pressure and make effective decisions - Cross-train and
assist other departments as necessary - Maintain all required
Continuing Medical Education (CME) Physical Demands While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to read, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required
to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle training equipment and
tools, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel,
crouch, and crawl. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up
to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work
Environment This job is typically in an office environment and
requires travel as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to
