Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours (06:30 - 17:00) Experience: Minimum years of experience required not specified License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Cath Lab experience Experience with PCI procedures, Pacemakers, Defibrillators, peripheral angiograms, Impella, balloon pump Description: The unit has 6 labs, including 4 for cath/structural procedures and 2 for electrophysiology. There are 29 staff members working on this unit. The staff includes: - Day Shift Radiology Techs - Registered Nurses - Schedulers - Surgical Aides Staff is scheduled for 4 ten-hour shifts from 06:30 to 17:00. Patient ratios are typically 3-4 staff members to 1 patient. Commonly used equipment includes: - GE/Philips x-ray - Maclab/Cardiolab - Merge Hemo documentation - Merge Cardio - CSI - EKOs - Philips Laser - IVUS-Philips - OCT-Abbott - Rotablator - Shockwave - FFR/IFR Three vendors are utilized: ESI, Rhythmia, and Carto. The EMR system used is Meditech. Typical procedures performed include: - Left Heart Catheterization - Peripheral Angiograms - Pacemakers - Defibrillators - Watchman/Amulet - TAVRs - Mitral Clips - Electrophysiology Studies - Electrophysiology Ablations - Cardiomems Ideal candidates should be flexible with assignments and able to work well in a team environment. On-call duty is required, averaging 8 days per month, which includes 1 weekend. Late shifts may occur, with an average of 5 late days scheduled per month for completing procedures.
