Registered Nurse (RN) | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: College Station, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,122 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 12 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification NRP STABLE Must-Have: Minimum of 2 years of Level III or IV NICU experience. Proficient with NC, HFNC, BCPAP, vents, chest tubes, UVC, UAC, and ELBW infants. Delivery experience highly preferred. Description: The NICU unit conducts prescreening of candidates. A second interview may occur. Previous employment within the past year is not accepted. Call outs are strongly discouraged and could lead to termination. Couplet care is practiced, and nurses attend deliveries and complete admissions. There is an expectation to assist with newborns as needed. The unit has 13 private rooms with nurse-to-patient ratios following staffing guidelines, primarily 1:2, with occasional 1:1. Feeder grower infants may be assigned a ratio of 1:3. Common diagnoses include PPHN, prematurity (25-34 weeks), and hypoglycemia. A significant amount of respiratory support is provided. Neonatology providers are in-house 24/7. The unit has specific equipment including bubble CPAP, high flow NC, vents, and NIPPV. There is no telemonitoring; RN staff read strips. Self-scheduling is permitted but finalized by management. Schedules are released 6 weeks in advance. Every other weekend and holiday rotations are required. Floating may occur to assist in other areas as needed.
