Job Description Job Description Description: Job Summary Under
the general supervision of the Lead Physician and in accordance
with standardized procedures, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible
for providing primary care to ambulatory patients through regular
health assessments and the management of common acute and chronic
stable conditions. WRMC is looking for dependable, highly
enthusiastic, experienced nurse practitioners for FT position. The
job requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work
independently and as a team member. This position is full time,
Monday to Friday. No weekends. Essential Functions Assesses the
physical and mental condition of patients by performing and
obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations
and medical histories. Orders collect, interpret, and evaluate
laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems
and health care needs. Prescribes, recommends, and/or employs
medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic
treatments and procedures or performs indicated procedures in
accordance with approved policies with attention to efficacy,
safety, and cost. Recommends interventions to modify behavior
associated with health risks. Formulates and implements
comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on
patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care,
professional practice guidelines and in collaboration with
physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when
appropriate. Evaluate patient’s response to health care provided
and the effectiveness of care. Counsels patients and families
regarding medical processes, management of the
health-illness/condition, medication, nutrition, and health
promotion. Counsels patients about drug regimens and possible side
effects or interactions with other substances such as food
supplements, over-the-counter medications, and herbal remedies.
Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment
plans and outcomes. Initiates timely consultation and referral when
the problem exceeds the scope of practice and/or expertise.
Provides consultation level services for conditions/problems
related to the Provider’s specialty and training. Performs invasive
procedures specific to the scope of practice and provider’s level
of competency as delegated by supervising Physician. May be
required to perform patient care duties beyond regular schedule
based on coverage needs of the department. Able to treat pediatric
and geriatric patient Behavioral Standards Treats everyone as their
customer; utilizes scripting and other tools to ensure consistency
in customer service; Expresses recognition and shows appreciation
to others; fully utilizes AIDET principles; responds quickly to
handle requests, complaints, and questions; displays a positive
attitude. Communication/Knowledge Excellent communication skills
both written and verbal. Collaboration/Teamwork Attends staff
meetings; follows HIPAA guidelines; follows patient rights policy;
complies with the compliance program; demonstrates knowledge of
role in a disaster; demonstrates knowledge of fire and fire drill
procedures; working knowledge of hospital emergency codes; always
utilizes standard precautions in the clinical setting; safely
manages the environment of care by demonstrating a working
knowledge of the requirements of the: Life Safety program,
Utilities Management program, Hazardous Materials program,
Emergency Preparedness program, Safety Management program, Medical
Equipment Management program, Security Management program.
Requirements: Experience: EMR systems: 2 years (Preferred) Urgent
Care: 2 years (Required) Minimum 2 years’ experience in urgent care
or emergency room preferred, able to work independently,
comfortable with procedures, current licensure with ACLS.
Education: BS or MS in Nursing from an accredited college or
university. Licensure/Certifications: Physician Assistant License
(Required) Certified Nurse Practitioner (Preferred) PA-C
(Preferred) EMR systems: 2 years (Preferred) Certified Nurse
Practitioner (Preferred) Current ACLS License
