Title: Analyst, International Logistics Compliance Location:
Houston, TX Duration: Direct Hire Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC
Holder, or Authorized to Work in the US Analyst, International
Logistics Compliance Education: • Bachelor's degree in relevant
field of study or equivalent years of related work experience
required Work Experiences: • At least five years related customs
compliance, audit, logistics or other relevant work experience
required Skills: • Strong ability to assimilate data and
information and make sound, fact-based decisions • Ability to apply
analytical skills to current processes and make recommendations for
improvements and problem resolutions • Knowledge of U.S. import
regulations and the ability to classify products using the
Harmonized Tariff Schedule • Ability to work independently with
minimal direction • Strong organizational skills, attention to
detail and the ability to multi-task • Computer - proficiency in
use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Customs software
tools • Communication - effective listening, speaking and writing
skills Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
• Working knowledge of U.S. Customs and Warehouse/Distribution
application systems preferred • U.S. Customs Brokers license or
Certified Custom Specialist preferred • Sporting goods
(apparel/footwear) and/or retail industry experience preferred •
Knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone operations preferred
Responsibilities: • Responsible for overseeing zone or sub-zone
activation, de-activation, or alteration. Compiles information and
files, all annual reports with the Foreign Trade Zones Board •
Possess and maintains functional expertise in the customs
regulations and customs broker practices. • Ensures compliance with
U.S. import regulations and proper use of the Harmonized Tariff
classification numbers with the corresponding rate of duty •
Follows internal control procedures when working with brokers or
customs • Handles day-to-day compliance issues that delay the
clearance of goods through the import entry process and anticipates
problems, diffuses situations and ensures that all freight is
picked up and delivered on time • Handles daily execution of the
First Sale Program in collaboration with Sourcing, Third-Party
Administrator, and vendors. Identifies opportunities to continually
expand the program. • Collaborates with the team to identify
classification opportunities to minimize duties while remaining in
compliance with all CBP rules and regulations. • Processing of
Customs duties through US Customs Periodic Monthly Statement
Process • Uses metrics for critical events in order management flow
(e.g., scheduling response cycle time, actual schedule v. buyer's
requested ship date and published lead time, on-time
shipping/on-time delivery performance) • Ensures import products
are properly described and the classification/duty rate is properly
assigned according to the General Rules of Interpretation, the
Explanatory Notes, U.S. Customs' Informed Compliance publications,
and binding rulings and Anti-Dumping and/ or Countervailing issued
by Customs for similar items • Ensures all required documents for
import items are provided for in the Purchase Order and Letter of
Credit • Assists the DC operations group in resolving any issues
with shipments received. • Interfaces and liaises daily with Import
Logistics Dept., Global Sourcing and Buying Depts., as well as
Distribution Center Operations • Notifies parties involved with
"hot” and "ad” of shipment status and resource requirements.
Reviews delivery schedules and general operations and recommends
service improvements or development of new deliverables. •
Analyzes, reviews and approves broker to submit comprehensive entry
• Carries out import compliance and audits in the following CBP
programs: Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)
security requirements Importer Self-Assessment (ISA), Intellectual
Property Right (IPR) • Implements and manages Foreign Trade Zone
entries such as weekly summary, withdrawals, monthly FTZ reports
for sub-zone, etc. Completes specific goals, initiatives and
long-range strategic objectives as assigned by the Director of
Logistics and Compliance • Required to learn company policies and
procedures • Required to learn company safety rules. Duties may
change and associates may be required to perform other duties as
