Vice President (VP) Business Development

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast has been serving the needs of Southeast Harris County for 55 years. It offers 364 licensed beds, a NICU, an Advanced Wound Care Center, and a full complement of hospital services.

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:

The VP Business Development is a core member of the Strategic Planning & Business Intelligence team, engaging regularly in collaborative efforts of Strategic Plans and Business Development, including but not limited to:

  • Supports the Gulf Coast Division direction as it pertains to business/service line development, marketing, physician relations, and community outreach for a defined geographic area within the division.
  • Accountable for leading the targeted growth initiatives, service line development, physician group development and physician group development and new business development.
  • Consults with division leaders and facility medical staff to ensure strategic and business plan strategies are executed.
  • Maintains awareness of the current and potential competitive forces in the marketplace and ensures that the entity has an active and continuous plan that meets the overall strategic objectives.
  • Collaborates with the division Physician Sales Team and leaders in the rural growth and service lines to execute key growth strategies.
  • Collaboration with Business Analytics and Planning team to monitor and understand current performance and potential opportunities.
  • Creates business plans, presentations and conducts financial analysis of key initiatives.
  • Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to Safety Program and Infection Control Programs.
  • Initiates development projects in conjunction with business plan strategies and/or new opportunities that are identified after the business plan is finalized.


What qualification you will need:

  • Master's degree in Healthcare and/or Business Administration required.
  • Minimum of five years in business, marketing or healthcare management.
  • Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally & in writing with all levels or the organization; Computer skills required, analytical skills, ability to work independently and interdependently.
