Overview

Patients Medical Center (PMC) provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services-wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women's services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.g for those who are poor and vulnerable, and innovating how and where healing can happen, both inside our hospitals and out in the community.

Responsibilities

The Medical Support Assistant is responsible for screening employees, patients, and guests for symptoms of COVID-19 prior to them being allowed to enter our facilities. The position would also provide any ongoing screening daily as appropriate. The goal of the position is to ensure that everyone is screened in accordance with our COVID-19 guidelines. The screener also supports the visitor policy as related to COVID-19.

1. Ask list of screening questions, as provided in COVID screening instructional materials, to all employees, patients, and guests to rule out COVID-19 symptoms.

2. Take temperature for all employees, patients, and guests.

3. Update logs with screened employees, patients, and guests. Turn logs into appropriate facility contact for recordkeeping.

4. Provide a loop mask and face shield as appropriate to individuals cleared to enter the facility and ensure they put on mask and face shield and use hand sanitizer prior to entering the facility.

5. Follows and enforces the Visitor Policy in conjunction with CDC Guidelines.

6. Other duties as assigned by Management.

7. Perform routine staff and patient/resident temperature checks as appropriate based on CDC guidelines for high risk populations.
