Basic Function
As a member of our dynamic team, you will support safe laboratory
operations and execute the quality systems at our Bayport, TX
Polypropylene and Catalloy facilities by driving improvements
throughout the product life cycle. This position requires frequent
interaction with customers, business, sales, and product safety
personnel. This position is also responsible for the overall
coordination for all site internal audits to ensure compliance with
Quality (ISO), Good Manufacturing Practices, and Operational
Excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities
--- Coordinate and manage all customer and agency interaction. This
position is responsible for responses to audit observations,
surveys, and resulting action items.
--- This role manages the resolution of customer complaints through
the Quality Notification (QN) system and performs initial
investigations regarding site processes and causes. This requires
partnership with operations, laboratory, business, sales, and ADTS
to successfully address customer expectations.
--- Partner with other Bayport Complex Quality Analysts to develop,
implement, and maintain the internal auditing protocol for site and
North American ISO compliance.
--- Drive current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) for food
contact polymers.
--- Determine opportunities for strategic quality improvements that
enhance our business and improves customer satisfaction. Provide
leadership to implement recommendations as needed.
--- Partner with Polymers Specification Management to manage
specification limits acting as the statistical expert for product
data.
--- Manage product qualifications in SAP and determine final usage
of products.
--- Collaborate with technical services, operations, and the
quality laboratory to schedule and execute new product trials.
--- Lead formal investigation teams upon request.
--- Partner with Bayport chemists and laboratory specialists to
maintain laboratory instrumentation and records.
Min. Qualifications
--- A Bachelor's degree required.
--- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a chemical and/or polymers
plant environment in positions affording knowledge of company
operations and systems is required.
--- Must be able to lead and participate in diverse work groups, as
well as plan and execute quality improvement programs.
--- A high degree of knowledge of quality management systems,
quality processes, laboratory and analytical measurement
familiarity is beneficial.
--- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a
permanent basis without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen, U.S.
Permanent Resident).
--- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English
language.
--- Must demonstrate mathematical and basic problem-solving
skills.
