Overview:
Patients Medical Center (PMC) provides -inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and -Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of -primary and specialized services-wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, -women's services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders. -Operates diagnostic equipment and Performs a variety of technical angiography procedures. -Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging tests inclusive of positioning patient, and calibration of equipment and documentation of findings. -

Responsibilities:
Performs angiography exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocolsPrepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standardsProblem-solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative or CES regarding equipment problemsEnsures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed during/ after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standardsCompletes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintainedCompletes all clinical supply inventory, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary supplies required to perform the procedureDemonstrates competency in PACS process and Performs daily QA processActively Participates with patient testing, performing routine, non-routine, urgent, and emergent patient requestsCommunicates with Patient Transportation, Nursing Units, Physician Offices, and other diagnostic areas to ensure that the patients receive their diagnostic procedures in a smooth, efficient and safe mannerEnsures that patient orientation, patient preparation and patient teaching is provided prior, during and following the test completionReviews the physician order to verify the type of diagnostic test requested and that the indication for the procedure is consistentProvides specific diagnostic test information to the patient ensuring that the patient is aware of the diagnostic test involvementObtains patient history according to specific departmental procedural protocol - -Positions the patient for the examination according to specific departmental protocolSelects the specific equipment pre-sets and modifies the settings to ensure that optimal image is obtainedAssumes responsibility for the safety, emotional and physical comfort of patients while they are in the technologists careAdheres to hospital guidelines on maintaining sterile fieldsResponsible for monitoring and recording radiation dose levelsPerforms required image post processingWhen needed, scrubs in to assist Radiologists in performance of sterile procedures during the interventional test/treatment. -Anticipates Radiologist's needs during the procedure by preparing catheters, coils, guides, etc. in anticipation of their use.

Qualifications:
Education and Licensure -*Associate's Degree preferred*Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R ); must maintain current*Certified by the State of Texas - MRT*(CPR)/BLS* BSLMC also requires employee to receive ARRT (VI) or AART (CV) within 2 year of employment -Miniumum Experience -*One (1) experience as a Radiographer
