2nd Shift CNC Mill Machinist at Dover Precision Components summary:
As a 2nd Shift CNC Mill Machinist, I set up and operate manual machines, including mills and lathes, to perform precision machining operations. My responsibilities involve interpreting blueprints, selecting proper tools, calculating feeds and speeds for various materials, and ensuring adherence to quality standards while implementing Lean Manufacturing principles. I have a strong background in using precision inspection equipment and hold tight machining tolerances, contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing process.

Additional information is available at dovercorporation.com.What You'll Do: -Sets up and operates manual machines, including but not limited to mills and lathes, to perform machining operations by performing the following responsibilities: -

Read, process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirementsInterpret work instructionsIdentify, select and install proper tooling for operations being performedCalculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of steel grades, copper, brass, aluminum and bronzeIntuitively understand capabilities of tooling and machineryUnderstand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspectionsAdhere to all Waukesha Bearings policies and proceduresApply principles of Lean Manufacturing to reduced setup times and improve productivityActively participate in daily Continuous Improvement activitiesEmployee must be able to set up all necessary measuring equipment and routinely check the calibration of the equipment while measuring. - -What You'd Bring: -
Prior experience with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gaugesProven ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .001"Preferred experience OKUMA Space Turn LB3000 EX2 Lathes (Lathe with live tooling) -Education: -
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Mental/Visual/Physical Effort: -
The employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hearoccasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and taste or smellmust frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
